Although things start to look up for Maxine
when she lands herself a job at Darren Osborne's new taxi firm, she will soon be left fearful once again as she is targeted by a mystery culprit.
The
plot kicks off when Patrick reports the boarding house, where Maxine is
currently living, to the Environmental Health. Darren and Maxine are
also alarmed when they later find the words 'Once a victim, always a
victim' written in red paint on their kitchen wall.

Although Darren urges Maxine to call the police, she quickly starts to
wash the paint off instead. Later, another sinister happening takes
place at the garage when Ziggy spots brake fluid leaking from Darren's
car, leading to speculation that someone is trying to kill him.
The
finger is quickly pointed at Patrick, who is approached by two police
officers outside the school and taken in for questioning. However,
Darren is left furious when he is released without charge.
When Maxine later ends up in hospital with two broken ribs, Darren tells the police that Patrick was responsible.

With Maxine out of action for a while, Patrick quickly takes their baby daughter Minnie into his care.
Seeing
how badly Maxine's life is going once again, it doesn't take long
before manipulative Patrick suggests that they make another go of their
relationship. What will Maxine say?
