EastEnders, Dot Branning murder trial gets under way.

Scenes airing in the BBC soap's 30th-anniversary week saw Dot hand herself in to the police following the demise of her son Nick, admitting that she let him die.

Tense episodes airing next month will see Dot's future look more uncertain than ever as she heads to court for the start of her trial.

As the proceedings begin, Dot's friends and family are all on hand to support her through the tough ordeal.

Everyone is nervous about how the case will go, having heard that the dealer who dealt the drugs to Dot will be testifying. The last-minute witness is claiming that Dot told him it would be better if Nick was dead.

The day get off to a bad start as Keeble takes to the witness box to give evidence, followed by a reluctant Stacey. Will Dot be found guilty or not guilty of murdering her son?
