The baby's biological father Tony Hutchinson is among the first to be arrested in connection with the case after Rose's jumper is found in his car. Even Tony's estranged wife Diane doubts him afterwards, but he is eventually released without charge.
Once Tony is back in the village, Diane maintains that he must be guilty, but he starts to wonder if her harsh attitude is all a front when he realises that she borrowed his car and could be implicated.
Tony then goes through Diane's call list on her phone and when he rings an unknown number on it, he is startled as a male voice answers and a crying baby can be heard in the background.
Later, DS Thorpe asks Tony, Tegan and Diane to do a press conference, during which the reporters hound Tony until he drops Diane in the firing line. How will Diane react when Tony accuses her of knowing where Rose is?
