EastEnders - Jane and Ian Beale face fresh worries as Carol Jackson becomes determined to help Max following his arrest for Lucy's murder.

The Beales guilt increase as Carol does her best to support her Max, after he pleads for her help from prison.

Carol visits Max in prison
Worried about what Carol might know, an uncomfortable Jane decides to visit Carol to find out what she knows about the night Lucy died.

However, Jane and Ian later find themselves in an uncomfortable situation when Carol arrives and asks for more shifts in order to pay for a new solicitor for Max.

Carol's world continues to crumble when she struggles to find the money to pay for Max's QC and after an extremely difficult prison visit with Max, she finds herself drinking in The Vic, whilst growing paranoid at people's comments.

Carol's frustration grows when Abi arrives and refuses to help her dad, revealing that she is more concerned about Cora's whereabouts. Later, Jane and Ian arrive but as a guilty Jane tries to help, Carol makes a scene and finally breaks down.

After a run-in with Phil, a stressed Carol decides to ask him for Ritchie's help but has no luck but Carol later sees a glimmer of hope when Sharon suggests they meet with her solicitor Margaret Midhurst to see what can be done.

Outside, an optimistic Carol confronts Jane - who has been dragged along to the meeting too - and asks her why she is so sure that Max didn't kill Lucy.

Back at the Beales', Ian assures an increasingly anxious Jane that Carol won't have any suspicions, but when she goes outside, she sees Carol greeting two police officers. Is their secret about to be revealed?
