Patrick will turn to Maxine after deciding that he wants to take control of his fate.
As
Patrick's heath continues to deteriorate, he finds himself struggling
to cope with his everyday tasks and is left humiliated when he falls
over in the school yard in front of some pupils.
Patrick is left
further embarrassed when Louis Loveday fetches his wheelchair, which
Maxine has brought into school for him following a discussion with Dr
S'avage.

After Patrick spills coffee all over himself when his leg buckles, he
finally loses his patience and takes his anger out on Louis.
With
Sienna and Maxine pulling together to support him, Maxine immediately
rushes to the school with some fresh clothes after hearing about his
accident.
Both Patrick and Maxine struggle to contain their
emotions as she dresses him but when she leaves, he tries to walk across
the office unaided, only to collapse again.
When Peri Lomax
walks past and spots him, she offers her help but it
all becomes too much for Patrick and he shouts at her to leave him
alone.

Patrick's aggression reduces an already-fragile Peri to tears, prompting him to feel guilty and invite her into his office.
As the pair start to bond, Peri confides in him about giving her baby away and after Patrick plays her his favourite record, she helps him into his wheelchair, telling him to take control of his life.
With
Peri's words ringing in his ears, Patrick later drops a bombshell on
Maxine by revealing that he wants her to help him die. What will she do?
