John Paul finally plucks up the courage to reveal his feelings following some
advice from Tony Hutchinson.
With
Ste going off the rails due to another drink and drugs relapse, Tony
doesn't want him anywhere near his son Harry Thompson. Fearful that the
on-off pair will reunite sooner or later, Tony makes it his mission to
get John Paul back with Ste instead.
John Paul is intrigued when Tony plants the seed that Ste still has
feelings for him, so he asks his ex to meet him under the archway on
Christmas Day - just like they promised when they broke up in the
spring.
When John Paul and Ste finally do meet under
the archway, John Paul gets down on one knee and asks his ex to remarry
him. As it's the first anniversary of their wedding, it seems to be the
perfect timing for his romantic gesture.
Just
to make things as awkward as possible, Harry stumbles
across the scene and is visibly shocked by what he's witnessing. With
his young lover watching on, will Ste say yes to John Paul or reject him
once again?
