Emmerdale - Paddy Kirk and Tess Harris have another dangerous close call as they decide to reignite their affair.

Paddy starts pursuing Tess again after she makes him jealous by feigning a romantic interest in his best friend Marlon Dingle following their recent rows.

When Paddy invites Tess to come along to a vet conference at a hotel with him, he's hopeful of getting things back on track as they spend some time alone. However, a huge spanner is thrown in the works when Paddy's wife Rhona receives some important news.

Just as Paddy is enjoying his time with Tess at the hotel, he receives a call from Rhona to reveal that they've got through to the panel stage of the adoption process. Plagued with guilt, Paddy immediately decides that it's time to end things with Tess, again!

Nicola Stephenson, who plays Tess, revealed: "Tess feels really furious with Paddy for being so wishy-washy. He's offered her something and taken it away again. Tess feels used, worthless and not as important as his wife. This keeps happening to her, and every time it does, her self-esteem gets knocked a bit more until she's a desperate woman. When Tess sees Paddy packing to go back home and saying that he's got to leave, she starts taking his clothes out of his suitcase as quick as he's putting them in!"

Just as Paddy and Tess are angrily discussing their future, Rhona sparks panic by deciding to surprise her husband at the hotel so they can celebrate their good news.

Paddy and Tess are terrified when Rhona arrives at their hotel room door, so Paddy forces his secret lover into the bathroom in a last-ditch attempt to keep his affair under wraps.

The cheating vet can breathe a sigh of relief when he manages to get Rhona out of the room without realising anything is amiss. However, Tess is now a woman scorned and soon surprises Paddy and Rhona by joining them in the hotel bar - pretending she is there with her husband Pierce.

Naturally, Paddy is left terrified that Tess could now vengefully expose the affair, but is he right to be worried?  Stephenson continued: "When she's hidden away in the bathroom, Tess isn't tempted to reveal the affair because she still thinks that Paddy is going to sort it out in some way. When Tess comes downstairs, she's just so angry that she wants to make Paddy squirm. I think she's quite desperate now. There is maybe a bit of her thinking that she could just let it all out in the open now and then Paddy will be with her. But I think Tess also knows that if she ruins it for Paddy like that, she runs the risk of him not wanting her. It's a risky strategy. I think deep down Tess believes that if Paddy were a bit stronger, he'd realise that he's not happy with Rhona and he'd be much happier with her. Of course that's not true!"
