Chas confides in
James Barton with her suspicions as the possibility leaves her in
complete turmoil.
DS Wise proves to be the perfect gent by graciously accepting her decision, but Chas's friend Charity Dingle thinks she should have given him more of a chance.
When Chas later gets drunk at the pub and has
to be led into the back room to sleep it off, it becomes increasingly
clear that she's worried about far more than just her love life this
time.
James Barton discovers this first hand
when he accidentally runs Chas over on a country lane and accompanies
her to the hospital, where she reluctantly admits that she might be
pregnant with Gordon's child.
Once Chas is discharged with only minor
injuries, James stays by her side as she awaits the result of a
potentially life-changing pregnancy test.
Either way, it's just the beginning of a very emotional
time for Chas.
The aftermath sees Chas
haunted by terrifying nightmares, and she also fears that her
post-traumatic stress disorder is back when The Woolpack is trashed
during the night.
Keen to face up to her
problems, Chas admits that she needs to be admitted to a mental health
clinic and she turns to Emma Barton for help with
making it happen.
Even Emma's worst enemies like Charity have to
admit that she's done a good deed for once after Chas checks in, but is
Emma really as helpful as she appears?
And
as Chas's loved ones breathe a sigh of relief that she's taking steps to
get better, just how long will her recovery process be?
