John Paul McQueen will struggle to get his life back on track on Hollyoaks as trouble from his husband Ste Hay and haunting memories from the past stand in his way.

Upcoming episodes see John Paul become hopeful of getting his job back at Hollyoaks High after headteacher Patrick Blake offers to arrange a meeting between him and the school governors.

Unfortunately, John Paul's big chance is thwarted when Ste makes contact with him in a desperate state just before the meeting, admitting that he is close to a drugs relapse.

John Paul puts Ste before his career by skipping the meeting and trying his best to help him, but the consequence is that he doesn't get reinstated as a teacher.

In the aftermath, the couple's marriage comes under further strain and it seems that John Paul has finally had enough of his troublesome husband.

Still hopeful of earning yet another chance from Patrick, John Paul visits the school but is haunted by flashbacks of the night that he was raped by Finn O'Connor.

John Paul soon realises that he'll never be able to fully move on without confronting some demons from his past, so he asks Finn's sister Sinead to take him to visit the twisted teen, who has recently asked to see him.

While we can't reveal exactly how the meeting with Finn goes, John Paul does ultimately get his job back afterwards and is delighted to be back at work - until he comes face-to-face with one of his new students...
