Val's health takes a turn for the worst when she collapses at the B&B, which leads to her being rushed into hospital as Eric and Finn anxiously await news on her.
Val's son Paul also makes a return when his mum's condition continues to deteriorate, with her life hanging in the balance.
Paul wants to support his mother in her hour of need, but as the family all rally round Val, Paul also can't help noticing the flirtatious vibes between Finn and hospital nurse Darren, played by newcomer Danny Horn.
Finn decides to go for it with Darren after some prompting from Paul, but will their relationship be a success?
