Next week, Sonia is treated to a birthday present from her daughter, who
is now using the shortened name Bex, but the teenager is upset when she
learns that Martin isn't invited to her mum's upcoming party.
Later, Sonia finds herself coming to blows with Martin, prompting him to announce that he is filing for divorce.
However,
on the night of Sonia and Tina's birthday, Sonia has a change of heart
about her decision not to invite Martin when she sees how upset Bex is.
During
the meal, Tina makes a speech to an evidently uncomfortable Sonia, and
things soon take an unsurprising turn when a drunken Martin causes a
scene.
Furious, Sonia decides to follow him to Ian's house, but
after opening a thoughtful present from her estranged husband, it isn't
long before the pair share a passionate kiss.

Following her night with Martin, an awkward Sonia pleads with him to keep it a secret, insisting it was a drunken mistake.
However,
after an embarrassing situation occurs when a social worker visits the
Beales, Bex is left with hope that her parents are reuniting. After
finally being told that Sonia and Martin are not getting back together,
Bex takes the news badly.
Later, after overhearing Sonia telling
Carol that she would like Tina to move in, Bex decides to take matters
into her own hands. Is Sonia's betrayal about to be exposed?
