Nick decides that he needs to tell Erica the truth after his brother David starts interrogating him about the obvious chemistry between him and Carla.
Before Nick gets a chance to speak to Erica, the quiz night begins and Erica acts as the question master for Liz McDonald.
Sadly, as she's delivering questions, Erica suddenly experiences terrible pains and Liz orders Nick to take her to the hospital immediately.
At the hospital, Erica and Nick are left devastated when they receive bad news and Nick later finds himself turning to Carla in the Bistro. Will she be able to support him when he needs her the most?
