EastEnders boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins has revealed more about Kathy Beale's upcoming return, teasing that her husband Gavin will be one of the biggest villains in the show's history.

It was recently announced that Just Good Friends star Paul Nicholas had been cast in the role of Gavin Sullivan, who will have a major role in Kathy's return storyline later this year.

Speaking at an EastEnders press event, Treadwell-Collins said: "We are gearing up to the big return of Kathy. Paul Nicholas has already started filming and we had a big meeting with him today. If everything works out the way I hope and I am sure it will, Gavin is going to be an EastEnders villain like no other. He is going to be modern, complex and he will have a little foot in the past and a foot in the present. You will learn more about him later."
