Coronation Street - Live Episode - Wednesday, September 23rd - ITV - 7.30pm

ITV has announced the soap's upcoming dramatic live episode is to air on September 23 at 7.30pm as part of it's 60th anniversary celebrations.

And rehearsals have now begun at Coronation Street studios in Media City, Salford, and will continue for the next two weeks.

The live episode will focus on the Platt's desparate attempts to thwart Callum and his plan to extort them for £20,000.

Lloyd Mullaney and Andrea Beckett's leaving party at the Rovers Return and Roy Cropper's 60th birthday party in the cafe will act as a backdrop to the tense drama at the Platts while Tim Metcalfe is in for a nasty surprise when he finds out his fiancee Sally Webster kissed her ex-husband Kevin Webster.

Following the live episode, fans will be treated to a special ITV2 show at 10:00pm hosted by Stephen Mulhern, who will chat to the cast about behind the scenes gossip.
