Ben reunites with his mother Kathy, nearly ten years after he believed that she had died in a car crash.
As
Kathy persists with her mission to build bridges
with an angry Ben next week, she soon realises that she has far more
worrying problems when it becomes evident that Gavin has taken Phil
hostage.

After a suspicious phone call, Kathy heads over to the Mitchells' house where she desperately attempts to talk to her son.
Despite a heart-warming plea from Kathy, Ben warns her to leave, but he has a change of heart later and the pair share a hug.
As
Kathy starts to explain everything that has happened, she soon trips up
over her lies and let's slip that she is still with Gavin.
Following
Kathy's revelation, Ben soon realises that there is more to the story
and a terrified Kathy admits that Gavin has taken Phil hostage before
adding that if she doesn't get hold of some money fast, she fears Gavin
will seriously hurt Phil.

Determined to get Phil back, Ben gives Kathy some money and she goes to
meet Gavin at the park. However, things soon go awry when Ben turns up
and, before Kathy has a chance to send him on his way, Gavin arrives and
embraces Ben.
It doesn't take long for Ben to see Gavin's true
colours when he demands more money and reveals he and Kathy will soon be
leaving Walford.
Later, Kathy defends Gavin and explains she
has to leave to keep everyone safe, but, desperate not to lose his mum
again, Ben suggests that they leave together.
Kathy and Ben then come up with a plan to get more money, but is she really prepared to leave Walford behind once again?
