Carla's world will be turned upside down when
she learns that Johnny Connor is her father and the news will send her
into a tailspin, with disastrous consequences.
Rob blackmails Johnny from prison over the secret he has
harboured for years, but his manipulation will step up a gear.
Following a worrying phone call from Rob on Christmas Day, Johnny will receive an email which leaves him reeling.
Knowing he needs to come clean,
Johnny drops a bombshell that changes Carla's life forever and she is
further horrified when she discovers that her brother Rob has been
blackmailing him.
Unable to
process the news, Carla drowns her sorrows and seeks solace in Robert,
who is having troubles of his own because of Rob's connection to Tracy.
Alison
King, who plays Carla, explained: "Robert turns up at the casino to
drown his sorrows over the situation with Tracy. Together they hit a
winning streak and celebrate with champagne, and as they say, one thing
leads to another. It is typical Carla pressing the self-destruct button.
She feels worthless so she makes herself live up to that label."
However,
in the wake of her night with Robert, Carla will immediately regret her
actions and become determined to stop Nick finding out about her
betrayal.
King added: "She realises immediately
she has made a really stupid mistake and she knows what she stands to
lose. She tells Robert that nobody must find out. She is engaged to the
best man in the world and she is terrified of losing him. She
confides in Michelle, but makes it clear she is going to try and
pretend it never happened and get on with her life. Johnny's secret has
blown everything apart for her and she may never recover from the
consequences."
