As previously reported, the dramatic turn of events come as the couple are celebrating their engagement after Freddie decides to pop the question.
As
Freddie proposes to Lindsey and she accepts, they are unaware that
Mercedes has been in touch with Grace, ordering her to get Phoebe
McQueen out of prison.
Viewers know that Phoebe has wrongly been
jailed for Mercedes's murder, but instead of following Mercy's
instructions, Grace gets her hands on a gun and books a flight to Nice
instead.

However, when Joe finds out about Grace's plan, he rings Mercedes to
warn her. At the same time, Sinead tells Freddie that she will give him a
divorce but reminds him that it was thanks to her and Lindsey that he
is out of prison.
As Grace is about to leave for France, she
overhears what Sinead is saying and later tells her to get a taped
confession from Lindsey and Freddie about framing Phoebe.

Later, Grace throws Trevor a birthday party at The Dog, unaware that
Freddie and Lindsey have organised engagement drinks there too, causing
Trevor and Freddie to lock horns as both parties refuse to leave.
Meanwhile,
Sinead has gone to the police with a confession from Freddie and
Lindsey and they are horrified when DS Thorpe arrives at The Dog and
arrests them. Is the game up for the couple?
