EastEnders - Max Branning faces an uncertain future as his trial for the murder of Lucy Beale begins.

While a guilt-ridden Jane Beale, desperate to make sure that Max doesn't receive a prison sentence, conspires with his lawyer Marcus Christie, it seems Max's prayers may have been answered when his daughter Lauren turns up in Walford.

Lauren is determined to clear her dad's name, but her best-laid plans fall apart when she goes into labour and later fails to convince her sister Abi not to go through with giving evidence.

As Max's trial kicks off, a nervous Lee is the first to give evidence but it doesn't take Marcus long to put doubt over his evidence.

Later, Cora takes to the stand to give her account of what she saw in the car lot, but as Abi's turn arrives, it is obvious she is starting to have serious doubts.
